FOUR CLONE 2011 PINOT NOIR
SONOMA COAST—UNFINED, UNFILTERED
This elegant, creamy Pinot Noir made in the French style is comprised of four separate clones of the Pinot Noir variety. The vineyards are located in the Sonoma Coast region, where the cool climate creates wines with bright fruit and good acidity. Curvare uses the finest French oak barrels to cellar this wine, producing a wine that is well-balanced with rich cherry and vanilla overtones.
The lovely, rich aroma of classic Merlot—black cherries and a touch of tobacco. In the mouth, elegant fruit flavors tinged with toasty oak. Soft, smooth, and easy to drink, with a long, lingering finish. Lush and full bodied.

Hailing from Chicago, at the age of three, Scott Horine moved to sunny southern California. While growing up, wine was always a part of family gatherings, and during college, it was discovered that wine presented a more sophisticated image to his dates then the de rigueur beer. With a degree in government in hand from the University of Redlands, Scott moved to Sonoma to attend graduate school at Sonoma State. Taking a tasting room position behind the bar at the Sebastiani Winery, he was soon giving tours and trying his hand at wine making with his co-worker, future winery owner, Dennis Richardson. The friends’ efforts yielded three “very delicious” cases of wine.
In 2000, after years of selling wine for dozens of high-end domestic and international wineries, Scott and his family founded Curvare Winery in a small building rented from the top tier grape producing Sangiacomo family. One year later, Curvare moved to its new location on Bonness Road in the renowned Los Carneros region of Sonoma wine country – a windy viticultural appellation that begins in Sonoma and ends in Napa, featuring cold fog and breezes from the San Francisco Bay.
Today Curvare Winery, produces handcrafted, gold medal wines from world class grapes that reflect the Sonoma’s rich heritage of terroir, winemaking, and Curvare’s dedication to exquisiteness.
When Scott is not selling ultra-premium wine for world renowned wineries, he enjoys exploratory travel, giving wine-tasting seminars, and discussing history and politics.
Scott’s favorite Curvare food and wine pairings include Four Clone Pinot Noir paired with grilled salmon, pork tenderloin or chicken cacciatore.
Born and raised in the illustrious and historic San Francisco Bay Area, Tim Callahan’s playground ranged from North Beach to North Bay.
While still in high school, Tim went to work in the wine department of a major wine and spirits retailer, where he was introduced to the enological offerings of the world’s most famous wine regions.
Tim followed his passion for wine to Sonoma and took a job at Sonoma Creek Winery, learned all aspects of winemaking, became Cellar Master, solidified his love of winemaking and began taking classes in enology and viticulture at Napa Valley College. Tim was soon hired at the Hess Collection in Napa, where he had the privilege of making wines from many of the area’s most famous appellations. This familiarity with Napa varietals led to a winemaking position at Koves-Newlan’s Oak Knoll vineyards, where he specialized in making Bordeaux varietals.
In 2000, Tim was hired as the winemaker for Curvare Winery and began to distinguish himself as a gold medal wine maker, creating handcrafted Pinot Noir and Merlot wines, using hand selected grapes from esteemed local vineyards, and perfecting his craft through winemaking sabbaticals to the sun drenched South American wine countries of Chile and Argentina.
Tim resides in Sonoma with his wife, Toni, and their Winery Dog, Porter.
